Darcy Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Field Technician/Supervisor to join our growing startup and help shape our future. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to develop exciting new technology while applying it to customer installations. Candidates must share our passion for sustainability and collaborative problem-solving, and be eager to contribute meaningfully to carbon reduction goals.

This role will support project planning, quality control, inspections, equipment testing, and technology development, while coordinating with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams including Construction, Sales, Geology, and Engineering.

With backing from NSF, DOE, USDA, and other partners, Darcy is leading innovation in groundwater-based geothermal systems for sustainable heating and cooling. Our novel approach integrates water well and geothermal technology to offer cost-effective, energy-efficient solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee well drilling, excavation, and underground piping installation per project specs.
• Enforce subcontractor compliance with technical and safety standards; perform audits.
• Coordinate externally with project stakeholders and internally with cross-functional teams.
• Lead quality assurance, equipment calibration, and system installation oversight.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and field readiness for system installation.
• Sample groundwater and system water per plan requirements.
• Perform independent fieldwork in varying weather conditions.
• Travel regularly to project sites throughout Minnesota and neighboring states.
• Execute other duties as assigned by the operations team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering, or related field (technical training also considered).
• 2–5 years of practical experience in field-based geology, engineering, or construction.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong time management, organization, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with experience in engineered systems.
• Strong safety commitment and clear communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for federal, municipal, and education sites.

Additional Skills / Experience

• Project management experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Familiarity with drilling and well construction practices.
• Experience in the HVAC industry, system design, or data collection/reporting.
• OSHA 10 or higher safety certification (training will be provided if not already certified).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel via air or car to remote and local job sites.
• Comfortable working on uneven terrain and in dusty construction environments.
• Able to lift and carry loads over 25 lbs regularly.
• Work on job sites for extended periods (8–10 hours/day).
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical building equipment.
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and overhead reaching.
• Corrected vision to 20/20 or adequate for essential job functions.
