Darcy Solutions is seeking a forward-thinking Preconstruction Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in preconstruction practices including planning, estimating, bidding, and contract/scope review for mechanical systems. A passion for sustainability and eagerness to tackle complex and challenging projects is essential.

With funding from the NSF, DOE, USDA, State of Minnesota, and climate investors, Darcy is developing innovative groundwater-based geothermal systems for commercial, industrial, and multi-family buildings. Our work supports aggressive carbon emissions reduction goals through integrated HVAC and ground loop design.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Project Planning: Analyze construction documents and ensure alignment with Darcy’s system design and installation procedures.
• Contracts and Bid Management: Manage subcontractor and supplier bid processes across MEP, drilling, site design, and system controls scopes.
• Project Budgets and Cost Estimates: Develop accurate budgets, leverage subcontractor networks, and support sales with pricing data.
• Schedule Development: Create and maintain project schedules that align with construction timelines and sales forecasting.
• Collaboration with Design and Engineering Teams: Coordinate with design professionals to integrate construction documentation with Darcy System standards and regulations.
• Risk Management: Identify project risks including weather, regulations, and supply chain delays; develop mitigation strategies.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as liaison with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and external partners.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure preconstruction documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with industry best practices.
• Permit and Regulatory Compliance: Support acquisition of permits for geothermal, water well, plumbing, and electrical compliance.
• Team Support: Collaborate across departments to support innovation, performance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in estimating or project coordination in construction, renewable energy, or HVAC.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, cost estimation, and scheduling.
• Proficiency with project management software (Contractor Foreman, Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainable construction practices is a plus.
