Darcy in 2025: A Retrospective

As we begin 2026, it’s worth taking a moment to reflect on what 2025 brought to Darcy Solutions. The past year marked a period of steady, intentional growth-adding new team members, expanding into new geographic markets, and reaching important technical milestones in our geothermal heating and cooling systems. Together, these efforts supported a significant increase in project activity (including reaching, and exceeding, the milestone of installing 100 heat exchangers!) and positioned the company for continued progress and leadership in the field.

Growing the Team

One of the most visible changes over the course of 2025 was the growth of the Darcy Solutions team. The year began with 19 employees and ended with 32, reflecting targeted hiring across engineering, operations, sales, and administrative functions. New roles were added to support geothermal system design, construction management, procurement, automation, and strategic planning.

New team members joined in roles such as staff geologist, systems and application engineer, construction project manager, sales engineer, and strategic and operational leadership. These additions directly supported the design, analysis, and construction of geothermal and ground-source heat pump systems, while new administrative roles helped strengthen internal operations as the organization scaled.

Internships also continued to play an important role throughout the year. In 2025, eight interns contributed across engineering, operations, and sales, gaining hands-on experience while supporting active geothermal and HVAC projects.

Expanding Into New Markets

Market expansion was another defining theme of 2025. Darcy Solutions broadened its operating footprint through new partnerships, including work with Trane in Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio, and secured projects in Florida, Illinois, and Kentucky, including work for the U.S. Department of Defense.

These efforts contributed to more than 60 percent growth in total projects compared to prior years. Darcy Solutions completed over 400 geologic assessments during 2025 alone. That brings the total to more than 1,250 assessments overall, averaging more than 1.5 assessments per day.

Advancing Geothermal Technology

2025 also marked several important milestones in technology. Darcy Solutions launched its eighth proprietary heat exchanger, continuing a steady progression of in-house system development, with the next iteration already underway.

The team also completed its first pump-and-reinject geothermal system, expanding Darcy’s construction and system integration expertise. In addition, Darcy secured its first thermal energy network project, with additional district-scale geothermal systems moving through planning and early development. These milestones reflect Darcy’s continued investment in scalable, high-performance geothermal and HVAC infrastructure solutions.

Looking Ahead

2025 was ultimately about people-new team members, new partners, and the growing collaboration required to deliver geothermal systems in more places and at greater scale. As Darcy Solutions moves further into 2026, the experience gained last year strengthens both the work ahead and the team doing it.
